Oneworld airlines cosy up in Tokyo

All oneworld member airlines serving Tokyo Narita will be operating from the same terminal from the end of this month.

British Airways will transfer its operations to Terminal 2 alongside Japan Airlines (JAL), American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair and Qantas.

Between them, these five airlines operate some 750 arrivals and departures a week at Narita.

Oneworld's member airlines have also co-located at Tokyo Haneda, as that airport opens fully to scheduled international services.

JAL will from October 31 offer international service from Haneda to Bangkok, Beijing, Honolulu, Hong Kong, Paris CDG, San Francisco, Seoul Gimpo, Shanghai Hongqaio, Singapore and Taipei Songshan.

At the same time, Cathay Pacific will launch double dailies between the airport and its Hong Kong hub.

American Airlines will inaugurate daily New York JFK services from Haneda from January, with British Airways offering flights to London Heathrow a month later.
